Here’s the itinerary for a 6-night bike trip in Ladakh:

Arrive in Leh on the first day and spend the day exploring the city on foot to acclimatise to the high altitude. On the second day, ride from Leh to Nubra Valley through the Khardung La Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. Visit the Diskit Monastery and stay overnight in Nubra Valley. On the third day, ride from Nubra Valley to Turtuk, a remote village near the Pakistani border known for its breathtaking scenery and distinct culture. On the fourth day, ride back from Turtuk to Leh, stopping to enjoy the scenery as needed. Spend the evening exploring the marketplace and restaurants in Leh.On the fifth day, ride from Leh to Pangong Lake, located on the India-China border, which offers breathtaking scenery but is a long and challenging ride. On the final day, ride back from Pangong Lake to Leh and spend the evening exploring the city.

Day 01: ARRIVAL IN LEH

Leh is a city in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, and it is a popular tourist destination in Ladakh. The city, which is located around 3,500 metres above sea level, is known for its stunning natural beauty and distinct culture. When you arrive in Leh, you must acclimatise to the high altitude in order to avoid altitude sickness, which is a common problem for tourists visiting the region. The first day can be spent walking around the city, visiting local attractions such as the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and local markets. To help your body adjust to the altitude, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and caffeine. It is also recommended. Additionally, it’s advisable to rest and take it easy on the first day and avoid any strenuous activities. Once you’ve acclimatized to the altitude, you can begin your journey to explore the other parts of Ladakh, including the stunning landscapes of Nubra, Pangong Lake, and other destinations.

Day 02: Leh Local

Leh is a beautiful city in Ladakh, India, and there are plenty of things to see and do in the city itself. Here are some of the local attractions you can explore while in Leh:

  1. Leh Palace: Built in the 17th century, this royal palace was once the home of the Ladakhi royal family. The palace offers a stunning view of the city and the surrounding mountains.
  2. Shanti Stupa: This Buddhist stupa was built in 1991 and offers panoramic views of Leh and the surrounding mountains.
  3. Leh Market: The local market is a vibrant and colorful place where you can find everything from traditional Ladakhi handicrafts to delicious local food.
  4. Hall of Fame: A museum dedicated to the Indian Army, the Hall of Fame showcases the history and achievements of the Indian Army in the region.
  5. Pathar Sahib Gurudwara is a Sikh temple in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh region. It is a well-known pilgrimage site as well as a popular tourist destination in the area. The gurudwara is about 25 kilometres from Leh.
  6. Shey Palace is a historic palace located about 15 kilometres from Leh in India’s Ladakh region. The Namgyal dynasty built the palace in the 17th century, and it served as the Ladakhi royal family’s summer retreat.

Day 03: LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY (160 Km | 2-3 Hrs | 5,441 M)

Leh to Nubra is a popular tourist route in Ladakh, India. The route takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the region, including the famous Khardung La Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. The trip from Leh to Nubra is about 120 kilometres long and can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending on the weather and road conditions. You’ll pass through charming villages, rocky terrain, and breathtaking mountain scenery along the way. Nubra Valley is known for its distinctive landscape, which includes sand dunes, lush green valleys, and snow-capped peaks in the distance. It is also home to the Diskit Monastery, one of the region’s oldest and largest monasteries. Day 04: Nubra To Turtuk To Nubra (163 Km | 4-5 Hrs | 3,001 M)

The road from Nubra to Turtuk is scenic, passing through beautiful landscapes and providing spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Turtuk, a village near the Pakistani border, is a one-of-a-kind destination with its own culture and way of life.Turtuk is famous for its apricots, walnuts, and traditional handicrafts, and it’s a wonderful place to visit the local markets and meet the friendly locals. Several historic monuments and cultural landmarks in the village, including a 16th-century mosque and a palace that was once the home of the local ruler.After spending some time in Turtuk, you can take the same route back to Nubra and enjoy the beautiful scenery once more. The drive back to Nubra is equally scenic, and it allows you to take in the natural beauty of the area.Overall, a day trip from Nubra to Turtuk is an excellent way to experience the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Ladakh, and it is a must-do activity for anyone visiting the region.

Day 05: Nubra Valley To Pangong Lake (150 Km | 3-4 Hrs | 4,349 M)

The road from Nubra to Pangong is long but scenic, passing through beautiful landscapes and providing gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The journey takes about 6-7 hours, with several stops along the way for rest and refreshments.The landscape changes dramatically as you approach Pangong Lake, with the mountains giving way to vast open spaces and the crystal clear blue waters of the lake coming into view. Pangong Lake is a lovely and peaceful destination, with its calm waters reflecting the surrounding mountains and providing a sense of peace and calm.The lake is also known for its unusual colour-changing properties, with the water appearing to change colours depending on the time of day and the angle at which it is viewed of the sun. The surrounding region is home to several traditional Ladakhi villages, and it’s a great place to explore the local culture and way of life. Overnight stay in camps.

Day 06: Pangong To Leh (160 Km | 5-6 Hrs | 4,522 M)

The journey from Nubra to Pangong is long but scenic, with the road winding through the mountains. As you leave Pangong Lake behind, the road winds through the rugged terrain of Ladakh, with mountains rising on either side. The road winds through several small villages, each with its own distinct personality and cultural heritage.The Chang La Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable mountain passes, is one of the journey’s highlights. The pass provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys and is a popular photography and sightseeing location.The landscape changes again as you approach Leh, with the rugged terrain giving way to lush green valleys and fields. Leh is a lively and energetic city.

Day 07: DEPART FROM LEH

Today is the last day of this adventurous trip. You can leave back for your home today, but you won’t be going alone. You will be taking lots of fun memories, which you will cherish for a long time.

EXCLUSIONS

  • Personal expenses like Telephone, Laundry, Tips and Table Drinks etc.
  • Any type of insurance-Medical, Accidental, theft
  • Any air or rail fare not specifically mentioned in the “Inclusions” section.
  • Airport, Railway station or Bus stop pick up or drop
  • The cost of any spare parts that will be used as a result of accidental damage to the motorcycle while it is in the rider’s possession.
  • The cost of transferring or towing the motorcycle if it is dropped along the way
  • The cost of vehicle servicing or maintenance (if own bike)
  • Any lunch and other meals not mentioned in package inclusions
  • Security deposit per motorbike of Rs. 5,000/- . As per the deposit policy (This is refundable at the end of the trip if there is no damage or spare parts used.)
  • Parking and monument entry fees during sightseeing
  • Any costs incurred as a result of an extension or change in itinerary due to natural disasters, roadblocks, vehicle breakdown, union issues, or other factors beyond our control (Extra days stay/food at any location during the tour due to bad weather or roadblocks due to snow)
  • Riding equipment for rent (knee pads and elbow guards – Rs. 750/- for the entire trip)
  • Anything not covered in the Inclusion sections

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • The check-in time is 12 noon/early check-in is subject to room availability.
  • The check-out time is 10 a.m.
  • We require a minimum of 8 riders to operate one group. We reserve the right to cancel any group if the required number of riders is not met.
  • If there are any additional expenses due to bad weather or other factors beyond the tour operator’s control, such as hotel stays, transportation, and meals, an additional bill will be raised. The additional costs will not be borne by BACKPACKCLAN or the participating partners/hotels.
  • BACKPACKCLAN is not responsible for any itinerary changes caused by factors beyond our control, such as changes in flight and train schedules, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomena, and so on.
  • If any group member wishes to leave the tour in the middle, he or she must pay the cost of transportation of the bike from the point of departure to the Manali drop-off point.
  • Members of the group would have to purchase their own riding equipment. It is mandatory to wear a helmet and have a valid ID and driver’s licence.
  • All guests will be responsible for their own luggage’s safety and security. We will not be held liable for any damage, missing, or lost luggage. Carry a small daypack bag to carry all of your valuables. Compensation for any damage/accident caused by you during the tour to others’ property/persons would be payable directly by you.
  • Any inappropriate behaviour by the client during the trip will not be tolerated, and Backpackclan (KSN Tours Private Limited) reserves the right to cancel such bookings at any time during the trip without refund
  • Bookings are not transferable and are not refundable
  • In the event of any changes to the booking, the consumer must notify Backpackclan in advance (KSN Tours Private Limited)
  • The booking cannot be transferred. Only the names listed at the time of booking will be permitted to travel.
  • IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR ADVENTURE HOLIDAY
    We do make advance preparations. We are unlikely to have to make any changes to your travel plans. We may need to make changes due to Force Majeure Events on occasion, and we reserve the right to do so at any time before or during the trip.
    If any changes occur as a result of Force Majeure Events, we will notify you as soon as possible before or during the trip.
  • We also reserve the right, in the event of Force Majeure, to cancel your travel arrangements, offer alternative dates, or revise the itinerary before or during the trip. Any additional costs incurred as a result of the aforementioned reasons must be borne by the traveller. Under Force Majeure Events, the traveller will not be refunded.
  • Force Majeure Event shall mean and include any circumstance beyond BACKPACKCLAN’s reasonable control, including, without limitation, any act of nature or the public enemy, accident, explosion, fire, storm, earthquake, flood, drought, perils of the sea, casualty, strikes, lock-outs, labour troubles, riots, sabotage, terrorist acts, embargo, war (whether declared or not), governmental actions, delay in issuance or processing of Visa/permit, change of laws and or other causes of like or different character beyond the control of BACKPACKCLAN
  • IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MODIFY YOUR ADVENTURE HOLIDAY PLAN, If you make a full or partial payment and want to change your travel arrangements in any way (for example, your preferred departure date or accommodation), we will do our best to accommodate you, but this may not always be possible.
    Any request for changes must be made in writing by the person who made the reservation. The traveller will be responsible for any costs incurred as a result of the amendment.
  • ALL DISPUTES ARE SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION OF DELHI.
    Road closures/blocks caused by snow accumulation on the highway, which may jeopardise the tour’s safety or smooth operation, may result in a change of itinerary or cancellation of the trip.
    In such cases, Backpackclan will not issue any refunds.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received more than 60 days prior to the date of tour start will be subject to the
following a Rs.5,000/- per person cancellation fee.
Cancellations received less than 45 days prior to departure will be subject to the following forfeit of
25% tour cost;
45-30 days – 50 % of the tour cost;
30-20 days- 75% of tour cost;
within 20 days- 100% of tour cost.
No exception to this policy can be made for any reason.
